“The BBC (almost) joins The Chain Gang in St Rémy de Provence”
A secret pleasure of mine is watching cooking programmes on television based on regions that we visit on The Chain Gang. Not least because I can watch TV and pretend I’m working!
A recent BBC series featured Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, exploring Provence in the imaginatively titled ‘ Marcus Wareing Simply Provence‘.
Patrick owns the Bistrot des Alpilles in St Rémy de Provence, where we eat on Sunday evening of our Provence tour.
It’s lively, Patrick is a wonderful host, but can they cook? One of the things I really liked about this episode, was Marcus Wareing initial doubts about Patrick’s use of Oregano-flavoured brandy in their signature lamb dish. Patrick fought his corner – did he persuade Marcus? I’m sure you can guess the answer, but watch the episode to find out.
